“Why is DT doing this<\/em> now?”<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We know that many of you are concerned about having to submit your identification and be photographed for age verification. We do not take lightly the expectation that you’ll submit to this without questions, so we’d like to try and answer yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First of all, you may wish to read the TrueCheck FAQ for detailed information about the age verification process: https:\/\/truecheck.us\/public\/faq<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We unequivocally agree with keeping kids away from adult content.<\/strong> No child should have access to the videos we produce. We think that protection should be done in a responsible way which doesn\u2019t interfere with any adult\u2019s ability to view legally produced adult content as they see fit. We believe there are several interested parties that should bear responsibility for preventing children from having access to adult content.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essentially, we started checking and verifying our customers because we had to.<\/strong> A few years ago Visa and MasterCard both set up new rules for accepting their cards, and some of the politicians in different states followed suit. Our bank basically told us to begin age verification or lose our account. It was that simple: either start checking IDs or go out of business.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a serious situation, compounded by the number of different laws we have to adhere to. There are now 26 states and 4 countries that require some form of age and identity verification for adult-oriented websites, and we either have to check IDs or block them outright. If you live in any region that has such a law, you’ll have to be verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because there is no national standard, many states (and countries) have taken their own approach. Some states impose criminal penalties subject to prison sentence, others have set severe financial penalties. Some use official law enforcement to prosecute violations, while others allow private individuals to sue a company for each alleged offense. The potential legal complications are too great for us to ignore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is this just a ploy to collect more personal information? Absolutely not!<\/strong> Neither Double Trouble Wrestling nor TrueCheck will store your identification documents or personal image once you have been verified. In fact, the same laws which require us to verify your age also require Truecheck to immediately delete any files used in the process once you have been verified. It is expressly prohibited for either DT or Truecheck to keep any record of your personal information.
